Wow, those 1913 Barber quarters are seriously rare! The San Francisco mint mark (S) is especially valuable, with only 40,000 minted. It's fascinating to compare it to the 1913 Philadelphia mint coin, which, despite having a similar mintage to a famous Lincoln cent, is significantly less valuable. That highlights how the demand for certain types of coin collections affects the market. The low number of Barber quarter collectors compared to Lincoln cent collectors explains the price difference, even with similar rarity. Thanks for sharing this interesting numismatic information.

What may stand out most about the 1909 quarter is the scarceness of the New Orleans (O) mint, which is by no means a key date in lower circulated grades but definitely is a tougher coin. As a side note, 1909 would be the last year that the New Orleans mint struck coinage.

Wow, that's a lot of information on 1909 Barber quarters! So, it sounds like they're pretty common overall, but the mint marks make a big difference in value. The New Orleans mint mark (O) is especially rare, and the proof coin is extremely valuable. It's interesting that the Philadelphia mint coins are the most common, but even those are sought after by type set collectors. Thanks for sharing this – it's really informative.
