As the price of silver keeps dropping, sales of 2015 American Silver Eagles keep soaring higher and higher. August 2015 was another busy month at the United States Mint, as nearly 5 million American Silver Eagles and more than 240,000 American Gold Eagles of various denominations (totaling 101,500 ounces of gold) flew out of the U.S. Mint.

The United States Mint has sold out of 2015 American Silver Eagles and will not be distributing any more for about two weeks. This news comes during a massive uptick in demand from bullion investors as silver prices have plunged, with prices dropping below $15 on July 7. Early trading on July 8 showed silver prices below $14.90, and as of this writing on the afternoon of July 8, prices hover just above the $15 mark.
As the summer heats up, so, too, have bullion coin sales at the United States Mint. While the distribution of American Eagle silver and gold coins was relatively cool in May, the June numbers indicate a much more active bullion market.
