Coin Info
1907 Liberty Head $10 gold eagles mark the last year of production for this classic coin type that dates back to 1838. Nearly 2.5 million Liberty Head gold eagles would be struck in 1907, though many have long since been melted down for their gold content. This leaves behind far fewer 1907 $10 gold coins for coin collectors and bullion investors today than were originally minted. 1907 $10 gold eagle coins contain 0.4806 ounces of gold. However, these old gold coins are worth more as numismatic collectibles than as bullion coins.

1907 $10 gold coins were originally designed by Chief Engraver Christian Gobrecht, who, during his tenure, oversaw the production of these coins and many other popular coin types at the United States Mint. In addition to 1907 Liberty Head $10 gold coins, Gobrecht notably designed Seated Liberty coins, which were largely made during the late 1830s through early 1890s. Later in 1907, Liberty Head type gold eagle coins would cease production and were replaced by the famous Indian Head gold eagle coin, designed by world-renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
