1902 Barber Quarter

1902 Barber quarters are relatively common across the board and commonly show up in type sets and even in bullion portfolios. Of course, Barber series collectors pursue 1902 quarters as well, and for those who do set their hearts on completing a Barber quarter collection, those from that year are rather affordable, save for – of course – the proof specimen.

All three of the business-strike issues are easy to come by in the circulated grades and are cost-effective for the collector on a budget. In fact, it’s possible to buy all three in a grade of Good for at or just below $50 combined. That is a steal, considering that most dates in the Barber quarter series have at least one issue that is particularly tough and can easily cost upwards of $50 for just that single specimen. Meanwhile, the 1902 proof quarter stands as the most expensive issue from that year, as is common for the proof Barber quarter from a to be the most expensive for a given year, with few exceptions.
